A nationwide drug prevention campaign in Italy has gone beyond more than one million informational booklets distributed in just one month. The initiative forms part of the international Truth About Drugs education programme, which aims to provide factual education about commonly abused substances and their short- and long-term effects.
Approximately hundreds of volunteers across the country are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in public spaces, shops and community areas. The campaign focuses on prevention through education, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a clear way.
The prevention effort is part of wider social programmes supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
